The Champs of the East

The Yankees are the champions of the American league east division! It has been a long grueling season full of injuries and woes. Throughout the course of the season the Yankees have had many key players on the DL: Mariano Rivera, Brett Gardner, and Andy Pettitte, to name a few. But through all the hardships, the Yankees clinched the east. Now the Yankees have to deal with the confident hot-hitting Baltimore Orioles. After winning four games in a row coming into the postseason, the Yankees have a lot of confidence for this first game of the ALDS. However, they will need a lot more than just confidence to face players like Matt Wieters and Adam Jones. The Orioles trailed the Yankees by only two games in the regular season. Thus, every aspect of this Yankee team will have to be completely sound. The Yanks will play the first two games of the five game set of the ALDS on the road and the rest will be played at home. The action starts later today at six o’clock.
